Overview

The Henry and Lois Foster Hospital for Small Animals provides 24-hour care for pets 365 days of the year. We offer high quality medical care, consultation, referral, and emergency veterinary services for the care of dogs, cats, and exotic pets throughout New England and beyond. Our mission is to offer our services and client care through excellence in emergency, primary and specialty medicine, and to advance companion animal health, while providing outstanding veterinary education in a compassionate, caring, and professional environment. The Tufts food products provide dietary care for all hospital patients.

The Central Supply Department provides products to all departments within the hospital. What You'll Do

the Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for:

  • Stocking and managing inventory for all patient care inpatient wards as well as the Tufts food room. Future restoration and management of our animal feed and sales program is expected.
  • Assist in Central Supply and Central Sterile as needed.
  • Oversees the ordering, storing, receiving, and distribution processes of our hospital’s animal food products and supplies.
  • Controlling the flow of food supplies and associated storage equipment, tracking, and proactively monitoring inventory, basic space maintenance, storage optimization, minimizing storage risks/maximizing shelving and developing protocols for loss mitigation.
  • Maintain current stock levels, organizing storage space in central and remote areas of hospital, and processing returned inventory by working with clinical services, and the central supply management team.
  • Understanding of LEAN processing would be ideal. Outstanding customer service skills, teamwork and problem-solving skills are required.

Job Schedule is Monday-Friday, Daytime with flexiblity


What We're Looking For

BAsic Requirements:

  • High School graduate or the equivalent with minimum one-year related work experience in materials or supply chain management.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and perform related functions in organized manner.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to plan and manage time.
  • Ability to perform with competing demands of operations.
  • Basic computer skills; Word, Excel.
  • File, tracking, and record keeping in writing or in digital form.
  • Ability to lift to 50bs with or without accommodation.
  • Prior experience in a veterinary, hospital or medical setting a plus.
  • Customer service, teamwork, empathy, kindness, and ability to work in an animal environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APICS Certification


Pay Range

Minimum $25.80, Midpoint $30.95, Maximum $36.10
 
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
