Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), the country’s preeminent art and design school, located in historic Providence, RI, is seeking a Department Coordinator to join our Department of Architecture.

The Department Coordinator performs a variety of complex administrative support functions ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Graduate Program in the Architecture Department and provide support to the department at large, including but not limited to, processing academic forms and documents; coordinating logistics, arrangements, and schedules for events and initiatives; organizing calendars; updating and maintaining database records and paper files; ordering office and event supplies; and coordinating and monitoring departmental expenses. Serve as a point of contact for all departmental internal and external relations and inquiries.

Job Qualifications Required
Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Three to five years administrative support experience required. Experience and knowledge of PC and/or Apple computer/s used in office administration required as is experience and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation shareware. Must be proficient with Google Apps (Drive, docs, gmail and calendar), and be comfortable editing digital images and presentations. Must have a high level of proofreading accuracy. Ability to adapt to new software is also required, including developing a proficiency with various Enterprise Resource Planning systems (i.e. Colleague) for accessing student transcripts, student information and registration. Proven problem solver with resourceful approach; demonstrated initiative, excellent interpersonal skills; attention to detail; basic math skills; strong oral and written communication skills; ability to multi-task; and work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work in and support a diverse and culturally inclusive environment.
