Position Summary
In this position, you will provide general administrative and logistical support to the Associate Dean for Accreditation & Student Affairs and SEAS student programming. In addition, you will:

  • Support accreditation and assessment initiatives (for both ABET and Middle States) within the school, assisting the Associate Dean in developing assessment protocols for SEAS, communicating new initiatives to faculty and department chairs and ensuring that all programs meet University standards.
  • Maintain the list of SEAS scholarships on the website and oversee SEAS scholarship management process through the UB Scholarship portal. This includes responding to general student questions, coordinating the scholarship process with SEAS departments, coordinating the review committees and providing faculty training. The incumbent is also expected to participate in the review of scholarship applications and support the Associate Dean for Accreditation & Student Affairs in the administration of existing scholarships and the development of new opportunities.
  • Work with student clubs to support general club activities. Assist in maintenance of relationships with SEAS Engineering Partners, facilitate and track use of partnership funds to support SEAS clubs and organizations, reconcile P-Card, documentation for other Dean’s accounts, and create annual impact report for partners
  • Lead planning and coordination of SEAS events and initiatives such as Commencement, the Order of the Engineer/Pledge to Professionalism, snack breaks, and UBEAA wellness committee events. In addition, support the Assistant Director of Student Affairs with additional SEAS programming.
  • Provide planning and support for special summer programs (e.g., Nazarbayev University and international interns). Duties include, provision of general administrative support, development and coordination of cultural program, planning and participation in student orientation.
  • Provide general support to address student concerns as they arise. Assist in the student grievance process, scheduling grievance hearings with SEAS Grievance Committee members and maintaining strict confidentiality in all matters related to the grievance process.
  • Assist the Associate Dean in administering the University’s course evaluation system. Coordinate efforts with individual SEAS departments and assist department representatives in the effective use of the current (and future) evaluation programs.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, and experience in a similar position

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in higher education administration or equivalent and/or 3 or more years of experience in a similar position.
