Job Summary
The Animal Care Laboratory Technician will be responsible for fish and rodent care within the Biology department at Simmons University.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage tank and cage cleaning;
  • Conduct weekly water chemistry checks and appropriate decision-making for water remediation;
  • Conduct health checks for abnormalities and sickness and reporting such findings to the Principle Investigators and the Laboratory Manager;
  • Observe and report of environmental changes which could affect animal health or research projects (e.g temperature and humidity changes);
  • Accurate record keeping as requested;
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations concerning laboratory animals;
  • Maintain regular communication with Principal Investigators and Laboratory Manger.


Qualifications:
  • Experience working with research fish lab and aquarist skills preferred.
