Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Facilities and Campus Planning, the Director of Facilities manages the day-to-day operations of the University’s Physical Plant and assures continued and effective function in support of academic, administrative and student services. In addition, the Director manages and sustains high quality facilities operations that support the University’s fundamental mission of teaching, learning and research. The Director also organizes and directs all campus facility planning for trades, transportation, events and grounds; and does related work as required.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree; five years of professional experience with direct involvement in facilities planning, operations, physical plant, budgeting, maintenance RFP’s and emergency response; knowledge of Federal, State and Local building code requirements; and a driver’s license valid in New Jersey is required. Candidate must be able to maintain on-call availability for any physical and/or weather-related event and response to campus for crisis incidents as necessary. Essential job functions include the ability to walk long distances both indoors and outside; standing for long periods; the ability to climb stairs, bend and stoop; and driving.
