The Department of Medicine within the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences seeks a Data Manager / Statistician. In this role as a Data Manager / Statistician you will be working independently and collaboratively with medical and health services researchers, using raw data and producing statistical reports in support of a given project. Exercise creativity, judgment, and discretion in the performance of assigned activities.

Organize and analyze databases in collaboration with PI/investigators
  • Develop large scale harmonized relational database based on several large-scale national databases.
  • Provides maintenance and support for large scale relational databases in SQL.
  • Maintains accurate data sets and reports for analysis and use.
  • Performs limited database analysis projects under specific instruction.
 
Provide technical support to project
  • Provide expertise in the development and maintenance of data management systems that optimize the efficiency of statistical analyses and reporting.
  • Tests new database enhancements before implementation and installation.
  • Prepares access methods, validation checks and analyze system performance following established standards and procedures.
  • Assists technical administration in supporting department local area network, computers and communication systems.
 
Provide support to broader research efforts
  • Assists in developing custom solutions for institutional needs.
  • Assist in the writing of scientific publications, providing expertise and scientific content regarding the study design and statistical techniques to be used.
  • Attend and participate in all assigned meetings, interviews, onboarding sessions, and study activities,
  • All other duties as assigned.
