As a member of the Career Discovery and Success Employer and Alumni Engagement team, the Coordinator for Career Connection Engagements manages the planning, coordination, and implementation of special events and programs designed to increase career connections between employers/industry contacts and alumni with students, faculty, and staff.
This position reports to the Assistant Director for Employer and Alumni Engagement and focuses on the coordination of on-campus, in-person, virtual, and hybrid engagement events in partnership with college and school career services units. Events and programs include career fairs, interview days, Employer Days on the Plains, information sessions, mentor meetups, employer and alumni advisory boards, Honoring Inclusive Recruitment and Employment (HIRE), and more. This position supports Auburn University’s focus on high impact practices by coordinating events and special programs that promote student engagement in experiential learning opportunities and the development of social capital, which positively impacts first destination outcomes. The Coordinator for Career Connection Engagements works in partnership with counterparts within colleges and schools to develop partnered, coordinated career services events. This effort is supported through a Career Connections and Events Community that works to collectively develop and plan career connection programs, special projects, events, and activities that align with university, departmental, and college strategic initiatives and goals around career development, career competency acquisition and articulation, as well as and first destination outcomes.
