Actively participate in a fast paced team environment to provide customer service to customers including faculty, staff, retirees, dependents, employment applicants, survivors, and NIU departments on all campuses. Actively listen to issues and ask probing questions to gain an understanding of the entire problem/question. Answer the question or initiate resolution of the problem by contacting the correct HR area or referring the customer to the correct benefit provider. Communicate health, life, dental, retirement programs, employment and general Human Resource information. Provide customer service via the phone, in person, or through emails.
