Admissions Counselor – Admissions, School of Arts and Sciences – (21001419)
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions recruits potential applicants and selects students for the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Engineering, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. The Admissions team embraces the mission of the university and the goals of the undergraduate admissions office which include attracting and enrolling a diverse cohort of first year and transfer students via a robust recruitment and enrollment initiatives plan that has equity and inclusion as its guiding principle.
Reporting to the Associate Director for Access and Diversity, the Admissions Counselor will be a member of the Access and Diversity portfolio with responsibility to co-lead the planning and execution of the fall fly-in program; co-lead the undergraduate Diversity Admissions Council; act as lead for Native student recruitment and collaborate with Director of Admissions for Access and Outreach on staff training, communications, and partnerships. Participating in Committee Based Evaluation, the Admissions Counselor reads and evaluates applications as part of a team and participates in the selection process. Additionally, they will participate in recruitment events both on and off campus as well as virtually and manage an assigned geographic territory.
Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
Bachelor’s Degree and up to 2 years of admissions related experience as a student employee or professional in a secondary school or institution of higher education.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and public speaking.
Valid US Driver’s license
Knowledge of US educational system
Experience with CRM data management software
