Position Summary
This position is for a Nuclear Thermal Propulsion (NTP) Engine Systems Engineer who will work both independently at times and in a highly integrated team performing engine systems and system engineering-related activities to enable the design, test, and operation of NTP rocket engines.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Support requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation associated with the development of NTP system by applying Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) knowledge to project activities.
Develop test data assessment computer utilities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the evaluation process.
Prepare reports and technical assessments in areas of NTP systems and performance.
Coordinate, develop, and present technical materials related to engine system performance, testing and integration to support design milestone reviews and anomaly investigations.
Attend technical interchange, project planning, design review, and other appropriate meetings to maintain a current knowledge base of design, requirements, issues, action items, resolution and verification activities. Identify issues, pursue resolutions, and support analyses. Complete assigned action items.  Assess requirements and implement risk management processes.
Document and maintain test and data analysis processes in written work instructions.
Translate higher level requirements into lower level functional requirements and design options. Conduct assessments to determine optimal and feasible design solutions.
Identify and document customer objectives and product requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Office environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication,  both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%). Requires travel in the domestic USA (
