Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program

Budget Manager for the Educational Opportunity Fund Program

Under the supervision of the Director, the Budget Manager (Managing Assistant Director 1) manages the EOF budget, student grant awards and financial aid reporting; oversees Program assessment; and manages other areas as assigned. The Budget Manager effectively collaborates with all staff to promote the EOF program to students, families and the community; prepares EOF budget requests for the upcoming fiscal year; monitors grant and institutional expenditures for all programs as appropriate; and prepares expenditure reports to the State as required for the EOF academic year undergraduate, graduate and pre-freshmen summer programs. The Budget Manager also maintains the EOF Supplemental Roster in the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) New Jersey Financial Aid Management System (NJFAMS) system. The Budget Manager is knowledgeable of the policies and deadlines of the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE) and HESAA for awarding undergraduate and graduate EOF financial aid grants. Additionally, the Budget Manager encourages student involvement and emphasizes the value of program services and support; manages office operations in the absence of the Director and Associate Director; and does related work as required.

This position is grant funded and future employment is contingent upon renewal of supporting grant funds. This position requires occasional travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited college and two years of professional experience in an institution of higher education is required. Experience with budget management, EOF programs and financial aid is preferred. Assessment experience is a plus. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
