Overview
The Food Systems for Nutrition Innovation Lab is a USAID grant-funded research and capacity-building project at Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. This is a five-year award, which began in September 2021 with an opportunity for renewal. The Innovation Lab comprises over 25 partners and collaborators globally and is managed by a team of researchers at the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.
What You'll Do
This is a grant funded and limited term position ending September 9, 2026. This is renewable based upon continued funding.
The Project Manager provides post-graduate, specialized subject matter knowledge and expertise to help implement, evaluate, and report on FSN-IL activities in collaboration with the team. The Project Manager will handle the below duties:
- Provides advanced, specialized subject matter knowledge to develop, implement, and assist with multiple projects in collaboration with Director or Principal Investigator.
- Develops goals and strategies; designs data management and reporting systems; assists with maintaining project financial, operational, and human resources
- Writes grant proposals for continued or new funding; participate in external relations.
- Collaborates with the technical team to design and deliver virtual and in-person events.
- May oversee research and prepares reports and results.
- May provide input for recruitment and retention of study subjects.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a Master’s degree in related discipline and 3+ years research or project management experience
- Research and data management skills
- Proficient in data analysis programs (such as SPSS, STATA or Nvivo) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience presenting data analysis results in reports or peer-reviewed manuscripts
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy
- Ability to communicate with clarity, sensitivity, and tact with a range of stakeholders, including scholars, scientists, technical experts, government officials, policymakers, and international agency officials, as well as with local staff and study participants
- Strong writing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing research projects and/or programs in low-income countries in nutrition, health, or related technical sectors
- Cultural sensitivity, patience and respect, and a helpful attitude toward resolving problems and answering questions are essential
Pay Range
Minimum $68,400.00, Midpoint $85,550.00, Maximum $102,700.00
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
