Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Controller’s Office is currently recruiting for an experienced Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk reports to the Sr. Accountant and is responsible for ensuring accurate transaction recording and reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, standards and practices for higher education. Primary area of responsibility is trade accounts receivable. This position also provides assistance to the University Accounting team and Controller as needed.

Responsibilities include the following:
Process trade accounts receivable and payments; follow up for past due accounts.
Process journal entries and cross charges from University departments.
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts preparing correcting entries as necessary.
Provide monthly, quarterly and annual reports/schedules to internal and external customers.
Research general ledger information in response to internal and external inquires.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping
2 years of general accounting or bookkeeping experience
Knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles, practices and procedures
Strong analytical skills
Strong technical application experience including advanced MS Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Oracle e-Business Suite
