Under limited supervision of Associate Director for Talent Acquisition, works in a highly collaborative manner with Tufts Leadership, Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) and hiring managers to understand client departments’ objectives and staffing needs, and to develop and execute customized sourcing and recruiting strategies specifically related to building candidate pools, pipelines, internal information strategies and other methods for internal and external talent acquisition. Ensures all sourcing initiatives reflect Tufts commitment to diversity. Helps to guide recruitment of other recruiters/sources.
The Senior Diversity and Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for providing qualified candidates by developing and implementing sourcing plans, including targeted candidate sourcing initiatives, and by leveraging social networking and other recruitment tools. Responsibilities for this role will include:
Develop recruitment strategies focused on attracting diverse applicants to Tufts resulting in diversifying talent pools and increasing diversity in the hiring process. This may include working closely with the HR Business Partner and TA Specialist on a particular requisition to advise on diversity strategies or working with the Associate Director for Talent Acquisition to create regular workflows and methodologies for creating more diverse applicant pools.
Build pipelines of diverse candidates that can be shared across the HR Talent Acquisition team, especially for frequently filled administrative positions at many levels. This includes, cultivating relationships, keeping an eye out for strong potential candidates, staying in touch with pipeline candidates, leveraging candidates across multiple searches.
Work with the Vice President of HR and the DEIJ leadership to determine where internal diverse talent pools exist and work collaboratively with DEIJ colleagues to execute on diversity sourcing initiatives to tap into those talent pools. This includes identifying how to tap into pools of talent appropriately via university affiliations, organizations, schools and programs.
Demonstrate proactive and effective sourcing techniques, including social media, referrals, and professional networking.
Contribute to university-wide and HR specific efforts to build diverse candidate networks, conduct community outreach, and advance diversity recruitment initiatives. This will include supporting the goals of the DEIJ as well as working with the school- and division-based Diversity teams.
