The Administrative Support Specialist provides exemplary management, operational, and professional support for the Office of the Dean in the College of Business and Economics. This position supports the Dean through managing administrative functions of the College’s hiring processes including support for College search committees, arranging candidate visits and managing documentation for hiring new employees. This position will also manage space reservations and provide administrative support for ongoing building maintenance. S/he will provide support for the College’s special events and projects as well as execution of its communication strategy including alumni events and engagements.
Public contact is a major part of this job, both internal and external to the College. The position’s incumbent will frequently interact and coordinate College activity within the work unit with key University central offices. The individual must perform professionally and responsibly with considerable independence, and exercise discretion to maximize achievement of programs or other functions assigned by the Dean. The individual is also expected to exercise sound knowledge and judgment in providing information on office policy and procedure to students, faculty, staff, and external parties.
