Primary Function
IIRC Systems Developers work in small Agile teams (directed by Systems Architects or Systems Specialists in conjunction with a Project Manager) on the development and maintenance of application software (typically web-based) that are required as part of IIRC’s strategic partnerships.

Duties and Responsibilities (generally)
Developing software tools; Analyzing and maintaining existing software systems; Applying OMIS prinicples and practices appropriately; Maintaining effective team communications.

Minimum Required Qualifications for this position
1. Master’s degree in computer science, OMIS, education, or a related field AND one (1) year of progressively more responsible work experience in IT-related profession.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, OMIS, education, or a related AND three (3) years of progressively more responsible work experience in IT-related profession.

Specialty Factors (Additional Required Qualifications)
1. Demonstrated experience utilizing object-oriented programming (OOP), including RESTful Web API Service, and object-oriented language fundamentals
2. Demonstrated experience in at least 2 of the following:
a. Microsoft .NET Technologies, C#; ASP.NET/MVC, HTML, Ajax, JQuery, JSON, JavaScript, XML/XSLT, CSS, NET 3.5/4.0/4.5/4.6
b. WPF, Windows Forms or similar interface design tools, Entity Framework
c. Mobile responsive design, UI/UX Design/Front-End designer/developer

Education and Experience Preferred
1. Master’s degree in computer science, OMIS or a related field
2. One or more years of professional experience in object-oriented programming, preferably in C# and ASP.NET.
3. Professional experience in data visualization, especially of educational data, preferred.
4. Professional experience developing systems for Microsoft Azure strongly preferred.

7. Hands-on experience with development for cloud systems deployment in Microsoft Azure
8. Ability to adapt quickly to differing project requirements and to shift focus to serve changing project goals and demanding deadlines.
9. Demonstrable skills in effective interpersonal relations, teamwork, and oral and written communication.
