Primary Purpose of Position
The program coordinator fosters civic mindedness and engagement facilitating service opportunities for campus organizations. Provides consultation for faculty and staff seeking to incorporate civic engagement in curricular and co-curricular programs aligning with community partners and agencies. This position oversees Parent/Family communication, manages social media platforms for unit and website updates. Provides support in tracking, assessing and reporting university community engagement. While cultivating a civically engaged campus culture, this position will develop and oversee a civic engagement certificate program. Provides leadership to student workers within the OSD unit; This position will also assist and support Leadership and Engagement and the Office of Student Development.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Office of Student Development is housed in the Division of Student Affairs. The department of Leadership and Engagement facilitates campus wide leadership and professional development for all students; co-curricular opportunities designed to support persistence and retention across diverse environments, disciplines and departments, while supporting 21st century leadership skills. The Office of Student Development works closely with the university and neighboring community in fostering a responsive and civically engaged culture.

Bachelor’s degree and with at least one year of employment experience related to civic engagement.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Master’s degree preferred in related disciplines.
Two years of work experience in higher education is preferred.
Working knowledge of holistic student development and experiential programming, community service, civic engagement.
Experience with collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds. Clear and effective oral and written communication skills and provides coordination of social media. Experience supervising students and professional staff.
Experience leading workshops and speaking to groups of diverse populations.
