The Lab Technician will support and strengthen the operations of the Sato lab. The lab technician will perform routine tasks for our mouse colony management including: weaning, ear notching, genotyping, setting up new breeders, colony database management, and IACUC protocol compliance. Other tasks tasks include, but are not limited to, (i) experimentally participate in various lab projects including human and mice experiments, (ii) adhere to all quality and safety standards/regulatory agencies (iii) laboratory upkeep/cleaning duties, and (iv) assist with maintaining adequate inventory of supplies. Attention to details and ability to closely follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) are the keys to success. The lab technician will be highly organized, driven, and motivated helping and supporting the research team as a whole. He/she will work closely with and communicate with other lab associates and the PI to complete daily activities efficiently. He/she must be able to communicate effectively and actively participate in lab/scientific meetings as determined by the PI. Previous research experience is preferred.
