This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.


The Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University receives grants and contracts to conduct research on a range international projects and programs. Dr. Shibani Ghosh will implement two (2) studies focused on understanding how different interventions impact the diet and overall nutritional well-being of populations in the Global South, specifically women of reproductive age and children under-5.  One study will be primarily implemented in Jordan and the other is ongoing in the north of Uganda. The project is managed in collaboration with partners based globally while the core research team works from the headquarters in Boston, MA under the direction of Dr. Ghosh.

What You'll Do

Design data management plans including: development of survey instruments, setting up databases, and formulating data analysis specification plans to address questions posed in research protocols.

Conduct quantitative analysis of data from surveys, observational checklists, routine monitoring data, etc.

Prepare materials for dissemination such as PowerPoint presentation for meetings, conferences, or other meetings and written manuscripts for journals, reports, and other relevant forums.

What We're Looking For

Minimum Required Experience, Education, Background, And Certifications/Licenses

Master's degree in statistics, epidemiology, economics, data science, or related quantitative field.

Demonstrable experience with starting and completing analysis for a particular research question (e.g. as part of a quantitative master’s thesis, class or work project).

Excellent communication skills.

Excellent skills with online collaboration environments, including Zoom.

High degree of proficiency in data analysis software such as STATA (the team primarily uses STATA)

Experience working with complex datasets, especially dietary data or agriculture production data will be an advantage.

Strong writing skills.

Additional Preferred Experience, Education, etc. 

Experience working in international and multi-cultural contexts.

Experience with managing survey data including a general understanding of the design of surveys. 

A desire to work as a member of a team of academics and practitioners which embraces multidisciplinary approaches and methods.

A desire to be proactive and think creatively about analyzing complex research questions.

An interest in nutrition-specific and/or nutrition-sensitive interventions will be helpful but is not required.
