Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Knowledge of cleaning procedures and some experience in janitorial services; practice safe handling of cleaning chemicals and safe operation of various cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, wet vacs, buffers, sweepers, brooms, dusters). Good communication skills, able to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions, as well as establish and maintain effective working relationship. Physically able to perform all cleaning operations that require continuous walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending and stooping.

Primary Purpose of Position
To perform general cleaning procedures that would ensure the assigned building/areas are neat, sanitary, tidy and healthy for students, faculty and staff.
To provide housekeeping and custodial services to academic, administrative and residential facilities.

Work Hours 3rd Shift (10:00 pm to 6:30 am), unday thu Thursday
Key Responsibilities and Related Competencies
Required Competency Knowledge – Technical

Perform general cleaning duties to maintain a health environment that include:
- Empty trash cans, wash windows, buff and vacuum; use of a scrub machine; carpet cleaner and wet vac.
- Replenish paper supplies and soap in toilets and sanitize restrooms, tubs/showers.
- Clean woodwork, base boards, shift furniture to clean area, make minor repairs and replace light bulbs and fluorescent tubes as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on cleaning equipment to assure proper operation.
- Strip, wax, buff and care for tile and terrazzo floors
- Physical ability to assist with setting up tables and chairs for meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Listens to instructions, asks necessary questions to complete

Required Competency Safety and Health Compliance
Practices safe operating procedures with cleaning chemicals and equipment, around students, faculty, staff and throughout all buildings/assigned areas. Attends safety meetings, wears personal protective clothing.
