Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Bachelor of Science, Associate degree or equivalent with 1-3 years of experience working with insect pests in a crop production setting, preferably in an IPM program and some knowledge of insect handling and culture maintenance, field plot design and data collection, analysis, and reporting; comfortable using Excel and PowerPoint software. Salary would be determined based on competencies, equity, budget, and market considerations.

Primary Purpose of Position
The successful candidate will have responsibility for establishing and managing experiments and conducting laboratory, greenhouse, field research and liaising with growers. Investigations will revolve around IPM systems research on crucifers, other vegetable crop systems. Ability to work with as a team member is important. Experience working with small growers is an asset. Under the direction of the PI summarize and carry out data analysis for discussion, presentation, and reporting. Good oral and written communication skills and computer literacy essential; experience with MS Word and MS PowerPoint; prepare tables and charts for publications and. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Pesticide Application License is an advantage.
