Overview
We are seeking a Digital Communications Specialist to work in the Office of Communications, Public Relations and Marketing at the the Fletcher School.
The world has changed considerably since The Fletcher School opened its doors in 1933. We've evolved and grown, too, but our core mission remains unchanged: to educate professionals committed to maintaining the stability and prosperity of a complex, challenging, and increasingly global society.
What You'll Do
Under the direction of the Director Public Relations, Communications & Marketing and additional department staff, the Digital Communications Specialist will execute communications strategies that promote the goals and mission of the Fletcher School.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and design content and strategies for the school’s digital channels, including the website, social media communications, and email marketing designed to increase engagement and to amplify the work of the school, its students, faculty, staff, and alumni
- Manage content for school website, maintain compelling website appeal and works with web developer on enhancements using the CMS system, create landing pages, execute website edits, add new content to the website to provide relevant information for various target audiences
- Collaborate with marketing staff to create content for distribution through email marketing and other internal and external marketing channels
- Coordinate with staff writers and other content creators to optimize department storytelling efforts across channels and audiences
- Maintain digital asset management system and user generated content (UGC) management system
- Analyze website metrics and content performance to use insights to optimize future content
- Compile and present reports on content performance across channels; evaluates results and recommends changes or new initiatives
- Oversee, monitor, and report on the school’s social media channels and overall online presence
- Evaluate and report on effectiveness of communications strategies and recommends changes or improvements
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience typically acquired through a completion of Bachelor' or equivalent experience in a related field with at least 3-5 years years of digital communications experience, including digital content development, social media management, and community management
- Demonstrated experience with website and social media analytics tools
- Demonstrated facility with social media management tools
- Experience working in higher education
- Applies knowledge and ensures compliance with University and industry standards for security, privacy, and accessibility
- A commitment to The Fletcher School's DEI mission and goals in the execution of position's responsibilities and tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- In addition to the above, the candidate must have experience ensuring compliance of web page content with W3C and Section 508 (ADA) accessibility standards preferred. Ongoing training will be provided to help keep up with current trends and requirements
