Position Summary

The University at Buffalo (UB) invites applications for the position of Student Services Coordinator in the School of Management (SOM). The candidate will work closely with current students, faculty, and other departments within the University to provide an exceptional student experience to our online and professional masters’ degree program students.

The candidate’s responsibilities will include:
    • Building rapport with students to provide them with a personal connection to the University and to enhance the potential for long-term enrollment retention.
    • Expertly navigate all student issues to a complete and accurate resolution utilizing knowledge of online programs and university policies and connecting students with the correct person or department as needed.
    • Provide academic advisement and maintain documentation related to each student’s course requirement progression to ensure timely completion of their program.
    • Ensure student academic records accurately reflect their progress in completing program requirements by processing Academic Advisement Report (AAR) exceptions and appropriate forms as necessary. Complete academic reviews for degree audit.
    • Assist with onboarding and orienting new students to ensure their transition is smooth.
    • Responsible for managing communication for currently enrolled students of online and professional programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with 2 years of experience.
  • This position requires efficiency, exceptional attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • This individual must be highly organized and comfortable using and adapting to changing technology and have the highest level of integrity as they will have access to confidential student files and records.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in higher education, business, or related field.
  • Experience in a higher education environment and with the delivery of student services for a fully online student population.
