Job Summary: The Online Student Support Services Specialist assists students emolled in online programs with a seamless onboarding process.  The position  addresses the general   advising, registration, and emollment needs of Tuskegee University online students to increase retention and graduation rates.  The individual serves as a point person to support students in online degree programs.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
The Online Student Suppmt Services Specialist will manage the onboarding of new online students, provide advising services to online students, and coordinate student suppmi services functions. The individual will be responsible for the different functions that are necessary for the successful suppmt of students and their progression from admission to graduation for online undergraduate and graduate students pursuing certificates, masters, or doctoral degrees. This includes onboarding new students, ensuring timely student registration, student communication, resolving student problems, coordinating with different offices on campus such as the Offices of the Registrar, Admissions, Bursar, Graduate Studies, Financial Aid, Students Advising, Career Services, REACH, Department Chairs, and others.


Bachelor’s degree in business/management, higher education, student development, or other related fields At least 2-3 years of higher education work experience in admissions, academic advising, or online student support services. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted. A Master’s degree is preferred

  •  Ability to interact with a diverse population and collaborate across organizational departments
  •  Ability to think creatively and work independently
  •     Ability to identify and understand student service issues, client needs, and matters of a recurring nature to effectively address and resolve the issue.
  •  Occasional evening and weekend work may occasionally be required.
  •    A creative and strategic thinker
