The Campus Living Business Office is looking for someone to implement and maintain a comprehensive system of inventory control and asset management. This person will be expected to lead the department in the management of its existing and incoming materials, assets and supplies, as well as disposal while ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, accuracy in accounting, reporting and best practices.
General responsibilities include:
- Assessment of all existing assets and respective life cycles across all on-campus living facilities.
- Implementation of effective and efficient system of asset management
- Assist with inventory audits and proper disposal, return and/or reallocation of items
- Provide oversight of invoices
- Assist with budget planning and serve as a subject matter expert regarding asset acquisition/replacement.
We are looking for an individual with strong organizational and communication skills. They will be expected to serve as a subject matter expert in the field of inventory control and asset management. This position may deal with completing priorities with limited flexibility in timelines, polices and regulations.
Campus Living, a unit within the division Student Life, serves to provide the best residential living experience for students at the University at Buffalo. Campus Living offers quality, affordable and desirable campus housing in support of the university’s mission. Campus Living is comprised of 13 residential complexes and five apartment complexes accommodating 8,000 residents on the North and South Campuses comprising 2.5 million square feet. Approximately 5,800 students reside in the residence halls and 2,200 students reside in the apartment complexes. Campus Living is comprised of 210 professional and classified staff.

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, production and operations or a related field.
Two years of experience in manufacturing or related field. Experience in working within an ERP (enterprise resource planning) and MRP (materials requirement planning) system. Proven track record and experience in making informed decisions to set all inventory policies that include, but are not limited to the reorder levels, lead times, locations and obsolescence and vendor information. Strong organizations skills and strong communications skills are a must.
Preferably three to five years of experience in manufacturing or related field. Experience in working within an ERP (enterprise resource planning) and MRP (materials requirement planning) system.
