The Finance Associate will provide administrative and financial support to the programs under the Office of UB’s Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships (BEP). These programs serve to connect industry with university resources with the mission of creating economic impact across NYS.
This position will report to the Associate Director, Finance and Operations.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a reliable and detail-oriented professional, with the ability to manage and prioritize diverse duties. You will be part of a team that helps support industry and startup growth and promotes collaboration in an inclusive environment. On the job training will be provided.
Primary duties and responsibilities for this position include:
Responsible for financial transactions related to expense tracking and reconciliation, personnel, and budgeting, utilizing UB business systems and QuickBooks
Participate in Procurement using university systems and processes
Serve as Inventory coordinator of capital purchases owned by the programs
Administrative support of programs as needed; may include scheduling, award tracking or other related activities.
Documenting customer engagements through client relationship management system (CRM)
Support tracking and documenting of outcomes and deliverables, to be used for reports to applicable funding agencies and requests from the University
Participate as a member of the Finance & Operations team to develop best practices and SOPs.
Occasionally provide back-up support to Facilities Operations staff, interacting with startup companies in the UB incubators. May include tasks like customer support, mail / package sorting, reception support.
As needed: Assist with intern onboarding and training; planning program specific events

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus at least two years related experience
