Overview
The postgraduate operations team supports the clinical and education efforts within the postgraduate departments across the School. The postgraduate operations staff provides courteous, professional and effective support services and are committed to providing patients, residents and faculty with information, guidance, and quality service to contribute to a successful dental clinic experience. This includes maintaining a safe environment, assuring that patients' dental needs are addressed in a caring, confidential, timely and thorough manner that patients are informed about their treatment and clinic procedures, and those patients' finances are handled accurately and efficiently.
What You'll Do
The dental assistant will assist general dentists and specialty dentists chair side. The individual will greet and escort patients. The individual will take radiographs as instructed by the provider. The individual will set up and break down operatories and clean operatory areas after each patient. In addition, the individual will be responsible for sterilization and maintaining equipment and materials in accordance with OSHA, federal and state guidelines. The individual will also be responsible for stocking all materials needed in the clinic on a daily basis.
In addition, the dental assistant will support the front desk operations. The individual will be able to schedule appointments, check in patients, collect and verify patient demographics, retrieve charts, document treatments plans and other tasks in support of office administration.
What We're Looking For
Minimum Required Experience, Education, Background, and Certifications/Licenses
- Years of related experience required: 3-5 years.
- Required education: Vocational/ Technical training or Associates degree.
- Special licenses required: Certified in radiology, Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), Licensed Massachusetts Dental Assistant
- Required computer/technical skills: Basic computer skills
Ability to lift 30 lbs.

BA/BS
Excellent communication and organizational skills. Warm and caring personality needed in dealing with patients. A team player and willing to participate in a fast-paced and changing environment. Familiarity with clinical care, institution or university experience. Should demonstrate willingness to articulate creative and innovative ideas for improving daily clinical activities, and laboratory procedures.
