Associate Director of Scholarship Services

 

Under the supervision of the Director of Scholarship Services, the Associate Director of Scholarship Services (Associate Director 3) assists the Director with managing operations of the Office of Scholarship Services and the relationships between the student body and the offices of Financial Aid, Student Accounting, Academic Affairs, Admissions and the Kean University Foundation, in the selection and distribution of millions of dollars in University and donor funded scholarships.

 

The Associate Director manages processes with Student Accounting and Financial Aid to ensure the appropriation of awards; works with those departments to ensure accurate and timely financial aid packaging and/or repackaging; assists in collecting and preparing lists, dashboards and presentations regarding student data for those receiving scholarships; collaborates with other key stakeholders to track student success and retention; assists in collecting and marketing external scholarship opportunities to students; distributes scholarship information and scholarships to students; offers student presentations on campus regarding the services of the Office; tables at various functions, including New Student Orientation which includes families and students; and does related work as required. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. This is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus as determined by the Supervisor.

 

Qualifications:  Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience in scholarship management is required. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. Candidate must have the ability to work with Google Workspace generally, as well as the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets, slide show presentations, graphics and other scholarship management software, such as Next Gen. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
