Overview

Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) offers one of the most forward-looking educational environments in dental medicine in the country. Since its founding in 1868, TUSDM has been committed to leadership in education, patient care, research, and community service. The School provides foreign trained dentists with an opportunity to provide private practice patient care in the school’s existing clinical operations. 

 

Clinical Affairs supports clinical and educational efforts within the simulated learning, student laboratory, and patient treatment areas of the dental school. What You'll Do

Under the supervision of the Practice Manager, the Practice Administrator oversees the overall management and direction of the dental group practice. The individual provides leadership, planning, financial management, staff supervision, patient management and operational oversight so that the practice can achieve their goal of functioning as a dental practice of the highest quality, providing excellent patient care.  The individual will oversee the supervision of all aspects of front desk operations within the practice, with a particular focus on scheduling the providers and staff as well as patient appointments.   The individual will work to continuously improve the clinic business operations and internal controls to the patient experience within the clinics.  The individual will be responsible for enforcing policies and guidelines in accordance with compliance regulations.  The individual, with his/her management team, will monitor performance of staff. 


What We're Looking For

Minimum Required Experience, Education, Background, And Certifications/Licenses

Bachelor’s degree & 1 year related experience OR High School degree/equivalent & 3 years related    experience in dental billing, insurance and office management.

  

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word; demonstrated knowledge of        medical/dental patient care systems, preferably axiUm (Exan).

 

Additional Preferred Experience, Education, etc. 

BA/BS with 5+ years in a dental/medical practice.  Comprehensive understanding of CDT billing/coding, insurances, /dental billing/healthcare compliance.  Working knowledge of ICD-9, CDT and E&M coding.  Versed in appropriate and compliant dental/ charting and documentation.  Exceptional computer skills. Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, communications and time management skills. Ability to exercise discretion, interact effectively with people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds. Maintain professional outlook, handle multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to multi-task.  Exceptional attention to detail. Experience with axiUm or other teaching patient health care system.
