Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs office duties in support of faculty, staff, and/or student efforts, including word processing, data entry, maintaining files, processing mail, and duplication.
Gathers, compiles, and enters data, producing routine reports and documents.
Produces handouts, fliers, newsletters, brochures, manuals, and other documents.
Answers the telephone, routes calls, or takes messages; responds to and/or directs inquiries in person or on the telephone.
May input budget figures, prepares requisitions, logs and tracks expenditures, takes payments, or issues invoices or bills.
Maintains tracking systems and logs.
Operates office equipment such as copiers and fax machines.
Additional Job Specific Duties
The primary duties of this position will be to feed, exercise and clean the animal wards for the Veterinary Technology program at the Elgin Campus.
This is a weekend only position. There are two 4 hour shifts Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
KnowledgeMust possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Feeding dogs/cats using common household measurements.
Be able to read and follow directions to ensure proper feeding. Also must be able to follow written directions to ensure animals receive correct medications at appropriate times.

Preferred Work Experience
Any previous experience with animal care will be helpful.
Work is routinely performed in the Kennel area with barking dogs and potentially wet surfaces.
Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting.
Occasional lifting of objects up to 40 pounds.
Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
