Position Summary:
Provide assistance and perform a wide variety of clerical, receptionist, bookkeeping, and program support functions for the Extension Educator and other full-time and part-time program employees as assigned or required. Apply detailed computer program knowledge and applications in developing and maintaining records, collecting information, and developing, preparing, producing, and distributing a variety of business documents that may contain technical, scientific, legal, administrative, and standard information relating to the Extension programs. Accomplish a variety of tasks, often under time constraints, with little or no supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in: office support functions including word processing; filing; composing a variety of business documents; reception; researching, compiling, and summarizing data for reports.
Experience: interpreting, applying and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or services; independently solving problems/performing liaison activities in a work setting; coordinating activities requiring complex arrangements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree preferred or a combination of education and/or related work experience.
Knowledge of: phone etiquette; customer service skills; good written and verbal communication skills; web design; bookkeeping; 4-H Youth Development programs and operations; agriculture; horticulture.
Experience with: Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, Access, QuickBooks, and 4-H Online software.
Ability to: work professionally with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, multi-task and be flexible; willingness to conduct and attend some evening and weekend activities and meetings and travel to work sites.
Ability to: maintain confidentiality, perform detailed work, and be comfortable working independently.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 20 pounds.
