The Post Award Research Administration Department is part of cutting-edge research, working for an outstanding employer, Tufts University, located in the Chinatown-Boston campus. Post-Award is a critical resource in the administration and interpretation of the sponsored project financial regulation and compliance matters.
We are expanding the Post Award Department and searching for new team members who will work closely with our Finance Department and the research community. Our new team members will provide guidance in developing practical solutions to sponsored project management issues. Manage grants and contracts following government regulations, donor requirements, and university policy.
The Associate Post Award Financial Specialist is responsible for the fiscal administration of grants and contracts in accordance with government regulations, donor requirements, and University policy. A key contributor to the grants management cycle, this position’s primary responsibility is cash management – including billing and collection, analysis of grant financial activity, understanding grant terms and conditions and posting financial data in the general ledger. This individual provides customer service to faculty and administrators. S/he may also assist with processing journal entries, closing grants, communicating with sponsors and donors regarding payment terms and other grant management activities. This individual may also provide project or another department support as needed.
Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through completion of Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3 years financial office experience.
Skills with Microsoft Office.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, technical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong deductive reasoning skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred.
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
This position requires occasional travel between campuses. In addition, individuals hired for this position may be asked to work from another campus.
