Overview

The Food Systems for Nutrition Innovation Lab is a USAID grant-funded research and capacity-building project at Tufts University. This is a five-year award, which began in September 2021. The Innovation Lab is made up of over 20 partners and collaborators globally and is managed by a team of researchers at the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy


What You'll Do

The Project Coordinator provides high-level administrative support and coordination to the Feed the Future Food Systems for Nutrition Innovation Lab (FSN-IL) and other Associate Awards. The Project Coordinator will be the first line of contact for the team, sub-awardees, and all other stakeholders collaborating with the project.  They will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, including scheduling and organizing events and assisting in updating and maintaining extensive information related to training and federal reporting, participating in the preparation of digital and print materials to be utilized in programming, as well as in the preparation of all reports. The Project Coordinator will maintain and update the website content in collaboration with the Communications Specialist. This is a hybrid position.

  • Assists in the preparation of all reports and print materials, which includes creating templates,  formatting, and editing.
  • Organizes and maintains files, databases, and spreadsheets (e.g. student training and travel data).
  • Assists in updating the website and social media postings.
  • Participates in developing marketing and communications materials, working closely with the Communications Specialist, including designing brochures, fliers, and event advertisements.
  • Organizes logistics for in-person and virtual meetings and events, which include Expert Advisory Board meetings, team meetings, webinars, symposia, and workshops for domestic and international collaborators and staff.

  • Coordinates production of materials, audio-visual, and other setup needs for events.
  • Works with Tufts University travel vendors to arrange domestic and international travel for staff and event participants.
  • Understands project budgets and provides assistance maintaining expenses within budget guidelines.
  •       Proficient in using all Tufts University electronic systems related to the Project Coordinator responsibilities such as vendor, requisition, purchasing, and invoicing systems.

  • Maintains and updates the FSN-IL project knowledge platform.
  • Composes written and e-mail correspondence to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prioritizes multiple tasks related to many projects.
  • Supports and communicates with a large team in the US and abroad.
  • Manages office equipment and supplies orders.


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of administrative experience, or a high school diploma or GED, plus at least eight years of administrative experience.
  • Requires proficiency with MS Office Suite, Qualtrics, and Canva.
  • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Experience in higher education, health research, or similar is preferred.
