The Philippine Youth Leadership Program (PYLP) is a U.S. Department of State (DOS) grant-funded program. The primary function of the Program Administrative Director is to oversee all aspects of the PYLP program. The Program Administrative Director (AD) provides management for the education, research and operations related to developing and running global/international programs at the Center for Southeast Asian Studies: recommending goals, assessing feasibility and ongoing performance and providing day-to-day oversight of administrative and operational functions. The AD is responsible for the program, policy interpretation, budget preparation and oversight, grant application, and content planning (or development), working under administrative supervision from the Center for Southeast Asian Studies Director (PI on this grant).
Duties and Responsibilities (generally)
The Program Administrative Director maintains overall human resource responsibility for staffing of PYLP. PYLP program development and design functions include developing budgets, budget reports, the scope and sequence of the program curriculum and engaged learning activities in order to fulfill the objectives as laid out by the U.S. Department of State. Program implementation is essential and includes grant application and development and management of logistics for the leadership program. The Program AD is expected to design and implement an evaluation plan and maintain external relations and community engagement by developing a comprehensive plan in line with the State Department objective to foster significant exchange and interaction between Southeast Asian students and American high school students. PYLP must be marketed by overseeing production of PYLP promotional materials. The AD must coordinate this and and other efforts by partners in the Philippines. International diplomatic travel is expected in coordination with the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines which includes follow-up with participants.
Minimum Required Qualifications for this position
1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Any combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following:
a. Demonstrated experience in research and/or training in Southeast Asian Studies
b. Demonstrated work experience with Filipino governmental agencies, NGO’s, and/or indigenous Filipino groups.
c. Demonstrated work experience with scheduling events, programs and activities for youth training programs.
d. Demonstrated work experience with grant funded programs.
3. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience in supervising student or staff workers.
4. Knowledge or proficiency in the Filipino/Tagalong language
*A masters degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) years (12 months) of experience.
