Overview
The Tufts University School of Medicine’s Department of Public Health and Community Medicine houses the Public Health and Professional Degree (PHPD) Programs that confer the Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT), Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Medical Science (MMS) by the Physician Assistant Program, Master of Science in Health Informatics and Analytics (MS-HIA), and Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences (MBS).
The Office of Student Services for Public Health and Professional Degree Programs oversees the administrative operations of the School of Medicine’s graduate programs inclusive of admissions, registration, career services, and student services functions.
This role in the Admissions Office is offered as hybrid (combination of onsite and remote) where you are required to be onsite at our Boston, MA Health Sciences campus 2-3 days per week. Specific days and schedule will be determined between you and your manager.

The Admissions Counselor works with a professional Admissions team to fulfill the enrollment objectives set by the Dean for the school. They will process applications and communicates application status to applicants, reads and evaluates applications for admission within assigned caseload, participates in the selection process and serves on selection committee, conducts group information sessions for prospective students and represents the university at schools and college fairs during travel to assigned geographic recruitment territory. This individual assists the Director of Admissions with the coordination of specific recruitment initiatives such as publications or social media strategy.
In the PHPD Admissions Office each counselor is assigned academic program(s). This role will oversee the admissions process for the Online MPH program.
- Performs effective recruitment tasks that fulfill enrollment objectives as set by the dean and managed by the associate director.
- Acts as a liaison and represents area of responsibility within Tufts University during visits to schools, college fairs, alumni events, and other recruitment events.
- Reads and evaluates applications and participates in the selection process.
- Conducts group information sessions for prospective students and their parents at both on and off campus events.
- Assists the Director with the coordination of specific recruitment initiatives.
- Processes applications and ensures they are complete and ready to be reviewed.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience as typically acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree and up to 2 years of related experience as a student employee or professional in a secondary school or institution of higher education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
