Our culture of openness, freedom and belonging make it a special place for students, faculty and staff.
The University of California, Berkeley, is one of the world's leading institutions of higher education, distinguished by its combination of internationally recognized academic and research excellence; the transformative opportunity it provides to a large and diverse student body; its public mission and commitment to equity and social justice; and its roots in the California experience, animated by such values as innovation, questioning the status quo, and respect for the environment and nature. There are many reasons why the College of Engineering at UC Berkeley is ranked among the top three engineering schools in the world. We offer a dynamic, interdisciplinary, hands-on education. We challenge conventional thinking and value creativity and imagination. And our students and faculty are driven by social commitment and want to change the world. With more than 247 regular faculty members, 2,421 graduate students and 4,320 undergraduate students located in seven academic departments, Engineering is the second largest college on the Berkeley Campus.
The College of Engineering Development team supports Berkeley Engineering's mission through marketing, communications, and private fundraising efforts designed to reach over 60,000 alumni, friends, students, foundations, and corporate partners. During the Light the Way campaign the College of Engineering received $900 million in private gifts and is consistently among the top fundraising units within the university.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Development & Corporate Partnerships, the Assistant Director of Corporate Partnerships supports the College's corporate relations program, serving as a key member of the team that builds and maintains top tier industry partnerships for the college. Responsibilities include event organization and logistics for complex campus visits, proposal development and grant writing, communications with key corporate funders, conducting donor prospect research and data analysis, and maintaining program communications such as the website and other external facing marketing pieces.
This position is responsible for a $500K fundraising portfolio.
At Berkeley Engineering, we educate and prepare engineering leaders who will create our future. While interest in STEM topics is desirable, a technical background is not required. We believe enthusiasm for innovation, entrepreneurship and a curiosity about engineering's impact on the public good are key ingredients for success in this position.
This is an incredible time to join Berkeley as a key member of the College of Engineering Development team. We are among the top fundraising universities (public or private) in the country, just having completed a $7.3 billion campaign.
