Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is currently recruiting for an Assistant or Associate Director of Annual Giving. This position will fulfill the role of a Leadership Annual Giving Officer on the Annual Giving team. The officer will work in partnership with colleagues throughout and beyond the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement team to encourage leadership level annual giving support ($1,000-$5,000 annually) across the university. Supported by an extensive, energetic travel schedule, this officer will make meaningful contacts with donors and prospective donors to understand their goals and priorities, assess their interest and capacity, and raise support for campus initiatives. The officer will directly and personally engage, cultivate, and personally solicit donors for philanthropic gifts.
The officer will play a vital role in engendering a habit of sustained and gradually elevating, high-level annual giving among our alumni, parents, and friends. He/she will also assist in the development and growth of the donor prospect and volunteer pipelines by qualifying prospects, conducting discovery visits, upgrading current donors, and promoting strategic volunteerism. The officer will, as directed, assist the Office of Alumni Engagement in connecting with graduates through personal visits, communications, and special events.

This position will entail extensive travel and frequent weekend and evening work.
Ensure cross-departmental transparency and effectiveness, adhere to all prospect management processes and policies around contact reports, proposals, etc.
Actively seek to improve professional skills, knowledge, and understanding of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University by developing relationships with colleagues across campus, attending campus events and activities and participating in training activities.
Support the formation of unrestricted and flexibly restricted cases for support by providing feedback and insight garnered from interacting with assigned prospects.
Serve as a member of the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement team by participating in group strategy discussions, providing project leadership when requested by management, sharing information with colleagues and contributing to the achievement of the overall goals of the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement Unit.
Assist the Office of Alumni Engagement, as directed by the Director of Annual Giving, in the identification and stewardship of Network Leaders and alumni volunteers.
Bachelor’s Degree and one to two years of experience in direct, face-to-face solicitation of philanthropic gifts or outside sales.
Experience in higher education philanthropy
