Individual in this position will be the designated signature authorizer for assigned Title III HBGI program and budget transactions. Responsibilities will include: day-to-day administration of the HBGI budget ($3.5 million) to ensure significant progress is being made toward the completion of the stated objectives in the approved Plan of Operation by Department of Education; process funding of scholarships and stipends to recipients of Title III Ph.D. fellowship program. Monitor academic progress of all funded Title III Ph.D. fellowship recipients to ensure progress to degree each semester. Initiate and complete the purchasing processes for all research equipment and renovations/construction for the College of Engineering and Energy & Environmental Systems activities. Compile Phase I formula data for HBGI Annual Performance Report.
Also, they will be responsible for drafting Title III proposals and annual performance reports for electronic submission to the U.S. Department of Education (USDE). Individual will review and edit reports submitted to the Title III Office from activity directors to ensure that they meet USDE criteria. This individual will conduct periodic visits throughout the year to ensure that equipment is in the correct location, has been disposed of correctly and documented, and is being used as outlined in the approved USDE Plan of Operation.
