The Master Electrician & Sound Engineer works with designers to implement lighting, sound, and projection designs into theatre performances. This position supervises, schedules, and trains lighting, sound, and projection crews, board operators, student assistants, and lab students. This position also assists instructors with in-class activities for lighting, sound, and projection design and technologies classes. This position is responsible for hiring, processing personnel paperwork for, and directly supervising one or more student employees and temporary crew in the Theatre Department. This position also maintains all equipment associated with the Theatre spaces.
Associate of Arts degree with 4 years experience in technical theatre lighting, sound, and projection is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre with an emphasis in Technical Theatre strongly preferred.
