Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience in the assessment of general education and distance education programs
High level of interest and knowledge related to critical issues in higher education and student success
Experience in using strategic planning and institutional effectiveness software platforms such as Taskstream, Digital Measures, Evaluation Kit, and Qualtrics
High level of skill in using software for quantitative/qualitative analysis and visual presentation of data/reports such as Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAS, SPSS, and Tableau.
Experience in content-management systems such as SharePoint and Cascade Server

Primary Purpose of Position
The person in this position is a key member of the Office of Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness, having the opportunity to assist with planning, implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of assessment activities across the University. The individual hired for this position will train and support academic and administrative units in their own assessment to achieve critical outcomes in support of the University’s goals.
With an understanding of best practices in higher education assessment, the person in this position is responsible for implementing and managing assessment processes related to general education, the University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), and distance education. This person also serves as a consultant to faculty and staff in support of assessment or specialized accreditation requirements and to administrative units in the development of their continuous improvement plans. A major activity of this position is to develop technical solutions to maintain efficiency of assessment processes, including providing guidance on TaskStream assessment software, development of reports and dashboards using appropriate assessment and institutional data, and development and training of faculty in the use of surveys, rubrics, and other measurement tools.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Office of Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness (OSPIE) at North Carolina A&T State University is the primary source of official data for the University. Its mission is to foster University effectiveness, including student success, by providing data and analysis for evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning. OSPIE supports student learning assessment, the development and evaluation of academic programs, and institutional accreditation.
