Primary Function
Under the general supervision of the Office Administrator and Chair of the School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders, and/or his/her designee, perform duties with courtesy and professionalism. This employee supports the School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders and is responsible for providing clerical support to all of the programs within the school. Additionally, this employee organizes and completes special projects for individual faculty or programs, creates and maintains student databases, supports the completion of accreditation and university reports, completes curriculum paperwork, and processes student applications for program admission. This employee must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, cooperation, teamwork and good judgment in prioritizing assignments and meeting deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities (generally)
The work activities listed below summarize the major work activities of the employee in this position. This position provides support to the School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders.
1. Employee collaborates with other office support staff and assists faculty.
2. Employee assists chair, assistant to the chair and area coordinators for programs within the school.
3. Employee processes and maintains sensitive and confidential information and must be familiar with and understand a wide range of regulations and the importance of these requirements.
4. Employee sets priorities, exercises good judgment, works efficiently under various deadlines, and respond with a high level of professionalism at all times. High quality work is expected.
5. Employee is flexible and responds to short and long term needs as they arise.
6. Employee effectively uses databases and computer application programs relevant to the discharge of program responsibilities.
7. Employee acts as backup for other AHCD office support, as requested.
8. Other duties as assigned

This employee reports to the Office Administrator and the Chair of the School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders and/or his/her designee. This employee supports faculty and staff but does not provide academic advising nor oversee faculty schedules/activities. Attention to the sensitivity of data handled and timeliness of response is crucial in this position. Failure to provide these sensitive and timely responses potentially creates both legal issues and accreditation issues for the programs and the school. The work of this employee will be a strategic component of the overall School Allied Health and Communicative Disorders Program Improvement and Expansion efforts.

Minimum Required Qualifications for this position

High school graduation or equivalent.
One (1) year (12 months) of work experience comparable to the second level of this series.
Any one or any combination of the following, totaling two (2) years (24 months) of experience in the categories below:
work experience performing office/clerical activities, including use of computer systems
college or university course work in any curriculum
twelve (12) semester hours = six (6) months
twenty-four (24) semester hours = twelve (12) months
thirty-six (36) semester hours = eighteen (18) months
forty-eight (48) semester hours = twenty-four (24) months
