Overview
Tufts University Counseling and Mental Health Service (CMHS) is a division of Tufts department of Health and Wellness, which also includes Tufts Health Service and Tufts Health promotion. The department contributes to the educational mission of The University through a variety of activities devoted to prevention, intervention, and consultation. Serving a diverse student body of approximately 7500 undergraduate and graduate students, CMHS is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment which is inclusive and culturally informed. We are a multicultural team with an ongoing focus on deepening our understanding of the intersectional identities of all members of our community. we bring energy and a collaborative approach to the provision of brief counseling and psychiatric services. In addition, we are active on campus doing training, outreach and liaison work, as well as consulting to the Tufts community of students, parents, faculty, and staff regarding students of concern. We also provide crisis intervention and emergency on-call services to the campus community in the event of a mental health crisis
What You'll Do
The Staff Clinician provides of a full range of psychological services to the Tufts University community. The successful Staff Clinician will have demonstrated experience providing relevant and effective therapeutic services to Latinx/Afro-Latinx college students, and will be expected to have training and experience working with other BIPOC students and communities, LGBTQ+ students, and students with diverse ethnicities, immigration histories, and intersecting identities. This position will:
- Provide clinical services including assessment, individual, couples, and group counseling, and crisis intervention, as well as liaison/outreach activities, and community consultation.
- Participate in 24-hour emergency on-call rotations, involving telephone and/or face-to-face after hours evaluations when necessary.
- Participate and present in in-service trainings
- May supervise postgraduate trainees
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Doctorate in Psychology or LICSW required; Current LICSW eligible in Massachusetts, or Licensed/license-eligible Massachusetts Psychologist Provider will also be considered
- Demonstrated expertise working with Latinx students and provision of relevant and effective services to communities of color, as well as experience with other BIPOC+ students, LGBTQ+ students, and students with diverse ethnicities, immigration histories, and intersecting identities
- Strong generalist experience working with college/young adult populations with a variety of issues including stress and anxiety management, racial and other forms of trauma, eating and body image issues, depression and mood disorders, ASD, etc.
- Crisis intervention experience and ability to participate in after-hours on-call rotation and other after-hours campus activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking) candidates
- Experience with eating disorders
- Experience working within electronic medical records systems
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
This is a hybrid role expected to be on campus at least 3 days each week.
Pay Range
Minimum $68,400.00, Midpoint $85,550.00, Maximum $102,700.00
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
