The Asset Management Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Warehouse Clerk to join our Surplus team. This position is responsible for performing a variety of routine warehouse receiving, campus asset removal, inventory control and organizational tasks, including comparing information on incoming deliveries from UNT personnel and required inventory documentation. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Receives, inspects and stores all incoming surplus items, conducting a physical count and reconciling with the delivery paperwork and reporting any discrepancies or shortages. * Processes and sort all items to a designated location * Identifies which items are for campus reuse, recycle or auction; obtains signatures from deliveries. * Keeps equipment in proper operating condition and stored in a safe and secure area. * Processes sales of items via online public auction. Offers good customer service to UNT faculty/staff/students as well as general public * Works with Lead to maintain proper inventory of necessary parts for warehouse, evaluates inventory items that need to be properly disposed of via surplus process on a regular basis. Some data entry in EIS may be required. Train and assign small duty tasks to student assistants as needed. NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use fingers and hands to feel, grasp, operate or handle large objects; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to learn or operate a forklift. Ability to use furniture dolly, hand truck and light duty tools as well as drive a 14ft box truck as needed. Work Environment may include indoor/outdoor heat, cold, rain, etc. This job operates in a professional office environment and warehouse. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- General knowledge of parts on hand as well as their general functionality.
- Prior experience in inventory control and warehouse shipping and receiving.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to effectively handle problems and duties in the warehouse and
shipping and receiving areas.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures.
- Skill in making mathematical calculations and computations.
Must have a valid Texas driver’s license
