UB Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships (BEP) is seeking a Contracts Manager to help change the world by facilitating industry sponsored research, technology transfer and clinical trials of innovative new technologies necessary to get new diagnostic and therapeutic products to market, and to foster economic growth in the Western New York Community. You will work with diverse faculty who are conducting leading edge research to enable creation and testing of innovations that solve real-world problems. In this role, you will be part of the Technology Transfer team and will work with Office of Sponsored Projects Services (SPS), Clinical Research Office, and other BEP staff to enable industry sponsored research, clinical research, and technology transfer at UB.
You will facilitate University wide clinical research by drafting and negotiating certain agreements with industry sponsors, while ensuring compliance with University and Research Foundation policies.
You will coordinate with internal customers as needed such as Principal Investigators, study staff, Clinical Research Office and Technology Transfer staff, and the Office of Sponsored Projects Services to obtain technical information, budgets, protocols and scopes-of-work for pre-award contract negotiation and execution, and to transition executed agreements to SPS for post-award activity.
Key responsibilities include:
* Non-Clinical Research Agreements. The primary function of this position is to facilitate University wide non-clinical research by drafting and negotiating contracts involving and supporting University at Buffalo research activities and intellectual property. These activities include, for example, industry sponsored research, license and option agreements.
* Clinical Trials Agreements. The secondary function of this position is to facilitate University wide clinical research by drafting and negotiating certain agreements with industry sponsors while ensuring compliance with University and Research Foundation policies. Primary focus is on clinical trial, data use and site agreements.
The successful candidate is expected to stay apprised of evolving regulations, trends, and standards relative to technology transfer, industry sponsored research and clinical trials, and to incorporate those into future agreements in consultation with SUNY and Research Foundation policies.
