Position Summary
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is seeking to hire a Senior Programmer and Analyst. The position is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the departmental information technology infrastructure. The incumbent develops and supports the software and hardware systems that enable the department’s research, instructional, administrative, and public service missions. CSE is growing quickly in terms of student enrollments, research expenditures, and technical challenges, so you will join a fast-paced, challenging workplace. But you will also find the community to be innovative, collaborative, and supportive, filled with faculty, staff, and student colleagues eager to help you succeed. Your duties as a Senior Programmer and Analyst include:
- Software consultation and development.
- Systems management.
- Special events technical management.
- Other duties as assigned by departmental leadership.
This highly technical position will participate in setting departmental technical goals, directions, and policies. It will help recommend and implement best practice approaches and methods at the department, school, and university levels.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or a directly related field with sufficient additional training in appropriate disciplines.
- At least three years of experience directly related to the duties found in this position.
- Substantive experience with Linux, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and other Unix varieties.
- Broad experience across computing sub-disciplines.
- Advanced technical skills including programming, networking, and analytical techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Experience in university environment
