Departmental Overview

The BCSP is a philanthropically funded center aiming to create and share knowledge with the world about the science of psychedelics and their place in society, with three key pillars: highly novel basic science research on the brain science of these compounds, development and publication of a robust and comprehensive curriculum for training guides to the psychedelic experience, and a multi-dimensional program of public education and outreach about what these compounds are - and are not, and about the history, business, politics, medicine, and many other facets of their existence.

Position Summary

Involves designing, conducting and supporting training efforts for staff and faculty. Works with program leadership to determine training needs and develop appropriate training programs, technology and learning approaches accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Support training program leadership with overall curriculum development and instructional planning for facilitation training.
  • Support the revision and coordination of curriculum and instruction as well as mentoring of program trainees.
  • Collaborate with training team members to identify potential guest speakers, as well as plan and implement the training curriculum with them.
  • Manage annual recruitment and admissions program, and provide strategic planning and other organizational support to training program.
  • Track legislation and policy developments, as well as peer training programs and ensure ongoing approval from appropriate regulatory bodies.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience designing curriculum for professionals.
  • Strong writing and speaking skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching at the post-graduate level or providing ongoing professional development training.
  • Demonstrated success engaging in strategic planning.
  • Advanced degree in relevant field and/or equivalent experience/training.


Salary & Benefits

This is a 12-month, 50% part-time (20 hours/week), contract appointment, eligible for UC benefits with the possibility of extension with continued funding.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.

The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $85,800.00 - $116,000.00. Rate is at 100%
