Supports the District's recycling center operations by communicating its objectives and instructions to consumers, placing containers and other capacities at a centralized drop off and collection facility, overseeing other work-study student employees and participating in collection and classifying of recyclables, and reviewing and verifying daily receipts.
Distinguishing Career Features
The Recycling Center Assistant provides recycling program coordination in addition to routine operations and collection of recyclable refuse at a centralized collection station. In addition to the position requiring a demonstrated ability to perform sustained physical labor and operate a specialized vehicle, it also requires the ability to be an advocate for recycling to meet environmental requirements and to assist with collection and verification of receipts.
