Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) offers one of the most forward-looking educational environments in dental medicine in the country. Clinic Billing Operations (CBO) supports patient care services billing for TUSDM. This Medical and Dental Billing team, along with other members of the Finance and Administration team, supports the financial management and administration of the dental school. This position reports to the Director, Billing Operations, supporting the Billing Management team and works closely with the dental school clinics.
The Billing Administrator (BA) supports the Dental School Clinics’ daily billing operations and is responsible for the overall functional management of all billing practices aspects, working continuously to improve Clinic Billing Operations’ internal controls to enhance clinic revenues, increase collections and improve internal/external customers’ experience. The BA is the first-line resource for billing team projects and streamlining of revenue cycle processes. This role directly supports the Director, Billing Operations and Billing Managers. The performance of this position has a direct impact to clinic revenue and it identifies opportunities to reduce denials and enhance revenue. This individual is responsible for ensuring that all billing aspects are compliant, processed timely, accurately and appropriately, following all applicable dental/medical billing, federal, state and/or Tufts University guidelines, implementing appropriate and timely changes/updates, as guidelines dictate. Responsible for managing the functions of accounts receivable, revenue collection, insurance billing, patient billing, payment posting and billing related account adjustments. Additionally, the individual needs to have the ability to prioritize duties/tasks in a fast-paced environment with numerous competing deadlines, while maintaining complete accuracy, with extremely exceptional attention to detail.
