Pay Range: $16.70 per hour or higher depending on experience

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Position Summary:

To conduct complex secretarial, office administration, and public relations assignments. To provide support for faculty, staff and students in Entomology, Plant Pathology and Nematology (EPPN) teaching programs by coordinating with department, college, university, and Washington State University offices to prepare, organize and submit all coursework schedules and programs, including curricular changes and distance education. Maintain and process all sensitive student transcript materials, recruitment and enrollment records. Prepare departmental newsletter and maintain website. Prepare and submit reports to both university and outside sources.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: 1 year of experience providing administrative support.
Demonstrated experience in interpreting, applying and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or services.
Experience in solving problems in a work setting, including forming and leading teams and coordinating activities with minimum supervision.
High degree of organization and attention to detail.
Experience working with commonly used computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe professional.
Ability to compose business documents and to compile and summarize data for report preparation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelors degree in office management, business or a related field.
3-5 years experience providing administrative support.
Knowledge of higher education academic rules, regulations, procedures, curriculum and graduate requirements.
Experience with UI Banner system including human resources and student modules, VandalWeb, and Argos.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 20 pounds.
