The Library comprises the Main, Bancroft, Moffitt and twenty-two Subject Specialty libraries on campus. Library Human Resources administers a full range of personnel, employee relations, employment and benefits services for the c. 90 academic librarians, 350 career and limited employees and 600-700 student library employees who staff the Library system.
- In collaboration with the HR Director, facilitates the academic review processes, identifying issues relating to policy and compensation. Researches & updates the annual FY, formal Call for Librarian Review; facilitates the academic review process for non-Senate Librarians and other non-Senate academic titles (i.e. Academic Administrator, Specialist, Researcher)
- Provides advice to unit head by analyzing and interpreting system-wide and campus policies, collective bargaining agreements, academic personnel procedures and practices.
- Analyzes and interprets guidelines and policies to provide advice and counsel to unit clients on issues such as compensation, work-eligibility (visa) matters such as H1-B processing or PR application, and benefits considerations.
- Coordinates the academic search process, including placement of ads, drafting of search plans, and conducting the initial screening of materials submitted. In addition coordination & close-out of the Library's non-senate academic searches in AP Recruit; interface with APO/OFEW consultants; & consultation with search committee chairs & search committees;
- Requires in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply/interpret HR policies and procedures.
- Excellent critical and innovative thinking to address issues and present nuanced analyses.
- Knowledge of or the ability to learn College goals, priorities and values and the legal and human implications of decisions.
- Ability to analyze personnel issues; develop project scope and solutions, give professional advice to all levels of personnel.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Exhibits aptitude for detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Human Resources Information Systems.
- Ability to run HR reports and analyze data.
Salary & Benefits
- Requires in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply/interpret campus and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR.
- Advanced knowledge of system wide and campus policies or the ability to learn, union contracts, procedures and practices that govern academic HR administration.
- Proficiency in HRIS, TAM, AP-Recruit, PeopleSoft, KRONOS/Caltime, Drupal and HTML. Familiarity.
- Experience with UCPath - HR and Payroll systems or the ability to learn a plus.
$50,100.00 - $76,300.00 annual salary.
